a spotlight on Afghanistan
Please join us over zoom for our first 'indigo conversations', with a focus on our partnership in Afghanistan. Ali Reza Yunespour and Tamana Mirzada will share an update on our work in Afghanistan and the fluid context in which we are currently operating in Afghanistan. We'll then open up for questions and discussion.

Who:
- Ali Reza Yunespour. indigo Partnership Coordinator for our Afghan Schools Program. Ali Reza arrived as a refugee in Australia in 2005 and is currently a research scholar and Academic Internships Coordinator at the University of Melbourne. His PhD thesis examines the political economy of higher education in Afghanistan.
- Tamana Mirzada, indigo board member. Tamana is an Afghan Australian youth advocate who is passionate about creating spaces that support newly arrived communities in their settlement journey. Tamana arrived in Australia in 2007 from Germany making it her final settlement country. In the past Tamana has worked in Kabul with Afghan Women Educational Center, as well as in Australia with organisations including the Lebanese Muslim Association, Community Migrant Resource Centre and the Shakti NSW Refugee and Migrant Women Support Group. In 2019, she was awarded the Refugee Council of Australia and STARTTS Humanitarian Youth Award.

'indigo conversations' are regular indigo events, over zoom or in person, designed to bring our community of supporters in Australia closer to our partners and their work. We share updates on our partnerships and the context in which we are working, and open a space for questions and discussion to dig deeper.
